Custom bunting; what material should you choose?

When it comes to having your own custom designed length of bunting it's quite easy to get caught up in getting your design right and almost ignoring probably the most important question you should be asking....what material should I choose? Bunting can be printed onto a number of different materials such as PVC, nylon, polyester paper and even wood. Each material has its advantages and its disadvantages. The three main things to consider when choosing a material for your bunting are:
  • Is it going to be displayed indoors or outdoors
  • Single sided or double sided
  • Budget

  • Produced on 575 gsm outdoor banner material, this is a very hard wearing bunting and produces, probably the most vivid colour finish of all materials.
    Paper Bunting
  • Paper bunting is generally a temporary use bunting for indoor display only.
    Synthetic Bunting
  • Probably the cheapest option for custom printed bunting. Printed on170 gm silk synthetic paper it is waterproof and tear proof so is ideal for display both indoors and outdoors.
    Polyester Bunting
  • Polyester is the choice for those who want their bunting to have the flutter in the wind effect. Printed on 100% flag polyester fabric, it can only be printed single sided with a mirror image to the reverse.

Bunting

Those individuals that have ever been to a festive event, or a vintage event, will be able to tell you that they have seen bunting. They might not have realized it but they most likely did. This fabric was used to make flags and banner and other types of traditional decorations. Union Jack bunting is often one of the most effective types that is used as it can be found in a number of different shapes and sizes.
What you should know about custom bunting is that is can often be used to show amazing patriotism. The Union Jack is the design of the United Kingdom flag and it dates back to the early 1800’s. You will find that bunting has been used with the union jack and hung in order to decorate for different events such as sports, community events and even different military celebrations that have taken place over the years.
If you are thinking about bunting, or union jack bunting, then you will be pleased to know that you can purchase it to use indoors but you can also use it outdoors for a temporary decoration. Many online sites are even going to give you different package options that you can take advantage of when you are trying to decide on the decorations that will fit your needs. If you are planning on getting custom bunting for the outdoors then you will want to make sure that what you are purchasing is waterproof so that you are not disappointed with your order.
Something else that you might want to consider when you are purchasing bunting is if it will be double sided. Not all bunting will have the design on both sides. Now, your need will most likely depend on where you will have it placed but you should always think about that before you place an order. You certainly do not want to get something that you are not happy with.
In the end, it is possible to find bunting just about anywhere online. Spend some time searching the internet to find the best prices and sizes. Check out stores that specialize in bunting. Make sure that you are reading customer reviews before you make a purchase. It will help you determine just how friendly and helpful the company is with their customers. Then you can decide who you want to use.

What is bunting?

Bunting is a term which can be used to reference many things. For example, Bunting is a species of bird or it can be a term used when a bunt is played in baseball, bunting. What we’re here to talk about is bunting of the textile or fabric variety (although textile and fabric can be replaced by other materials).
Bunting can be dated back to the 17th century where it was known as tammy, a specific type of lightweight wool fabric. First uses include making ribbons and flags, which include signal flags for the Royal Navy.
These days, when the term “Bunting” is used it is usually to refer to a decoration of some sort by which a number of flag are sewn to a rope webbing. Common guises of Bunting include multi colours and National flags manufactured into either triangle or rectangle pennants
A form of bunting which is becoming more and more popular is custom bunting or bespoke bunting. Having your own design or corporate logo printed onto bunting pennants mean that bunting can be used at almost any occasion for decoration or as an advertising tool.
Particularly useful at large outdoor events to add a splash of colour they are perfect for rounding off a display.
